The wide paved Mountbatten Breakwater with tower at the end is a favourite spot for fishing. It is also a great place to enjoy views of Plymouth Sound including the Royal Citadel and Smeaton’s Tower.

The South West Coast (walking) Path loops around the headland, covering a quiet little garden with plenty of seatings next to a car park (Mount Batten Car Park). The Mount Batten Tower was closed when we visited but we enjoyed our walks just the same, in the garden, by the sea and on Mount Batten Breakwater itself.
