In the grounds of the Conishead Prior house is the Kadampa Buddhist Temple, a temple dedicated to world peace. We captured the magnificent temple on a clear sky day showered in natural light.
The temple is based on the Mandala Palace of Buddha Heruka, the supreme Buddha of compassion. It is designed with aspects of the temple that symbolises the spiritual path of enlightenment. Seeing the temple, one is reminded that we have the potential to achieve the highest goals.
It was designed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and was built as an offering to future generations. Opened in 1997, it is dedicated to world peace. The outer peace depends upon the inner peace as is portrayed by the garden that surrounds the temple and the blassed statues inside it.

Look for the eight auspicious symbols that adorns the exterior wall of the temple. It shows how one progresses along the spiritual path.
