Mere paces from the water, almost uniform with the rest of the wooden beach huts that line the beach, the Knoll Bookshop is a pleasant surprise on the Studland Bay. For anyone who has come to the beach without their summer read, the bookshop is a life saver.

Three walls of the beach hut are lined with a range of donated books from classics to contemporary romance, military non-fiction to cook books and children’s books. There is almost certainly something for everyone.
The recommended donation (at the time of our visit in Summer 2023) is £1 per paperback and £2 per hardback. The collection would be used by the National Trust to contribute towards the upkeep of the area.
