Your visit to Cambridge wouldn’t be complete without walking through King’s Parade. With views of King Henry VII Statue, King’s College and King’s College Chapel on one side and shops, restaurants and cafe on the other, it is no wonder that this pedestrianised road in Cambridge is a must-see for visitors.
King’s Parade is a very popular street in central Cambridge, England. The street continues north as Senate House Hill, Trinity Street and then St John’s Street, and south as Trumpington Street. It is a major tourist area in Cambridge, a must-visit for everyone going to Cambridge and it commands a central position in the University of Cambridge area of the city.
Attractions
King’s College itself and the glorious King’s College Chapel are the main attractions here. Visit the King’s College Visitor Center for information and tickets or book ahead to enjoy some savings. The statue of King Henry VIII on the wall of Wilkins’ Building is the other one to look out for. And, just across the street from the statue, at the Junction of King’s Parade, Bene’t Street and Trumpington Street is The Corpus Clock, a handless timepiece with a glimmering gold circular shell topped with a moving mechanical insect. Try and read the time off the clock, we challenge you.
Just to recap, the attractions on King’s Parade, working up north include:
- King Henry VIII Statue
- The Corpus Clock
- King’s College Cambridge
- King’s College Chapel

And if you continue up north into Senate House Hill, there are Great St Mary’s The University Church, The Old Schools, Senate House and Gonville & Caius College, but we will keep that for another article.
