If you like hot Caribbean food and drinks then you are in luck. Turtle Bay is in Bath.
Located at where Duck, Son and Pinkers’ Piano shop use to be, that’s 11 Bridge St, Bath, BA2 4AS, Turtle Bay didn’t hold back when it comes to it’s interior.
Rough and bare cement surfaces, raw tin and zinc roof as well as mock stalls and sanded down wooden seating and table makes a very rustic look. Complete with signs, ornaments and Jamaican music, Turtle Bay is as Caribbean as it gets. We love the beach bar and street food dining style.
The food didn’t disappoint. We ordered light lunches from the Grill and had a bottle of their fizzy lemonade.
– Lunch Jerk Ribs – Grilled jerk marinated pork ribs, honey bbq glaze, sour orange chutney, Caribbean Slaw, rice ‘n’ peas
– 1/4 Jerk Chicken – 12 spice & herb jerk marinated & grilled, Caribbean slaw, rice ‘n’ peas or fries
We love the creamy taste of the accompanying rice ‘n’ peas. The fries were great too with spicy sprinkles. However, we thought the portion of the Caribbean coleslaw (or slaw) was a bit on the small side.
The jerk sauce and marinate may be a little hot for some, you have been warned. Our food from the Lunch ‘n’ Light menu is great value and cost only £6.95 each.
