The award winning Sticks & Broth in Bristol is a must for foodies looking to sample asian cuisine particularly Japanese Ramen and Yakitori. But this is not your standard ramen bar.
Relaxed, spartan noodle bar specialising in handmade ramen in broth, plus Asian bottled beers.
The people at Sticks and Broth Sticks combines flavours of spicy, sweet, sour and savoury taste to come up with some exciting far. One look at the menu and you will see that its offers a more varied palette compare to your standard Japanese fare.
With noodles, there is the house ramen, duck ramen, spicy kimchee ramen, spicy yasi ramen, chashu pork ramen, spicy chicken ramen, spicy tantanmein ramen and for the even more eventurous, the thai guy ramen, phatboy ramen and big porky. All ramen dishes are served with bamboo, bean sprouts, soy marinated egg and toasted seaweed.
But if noodle is not your thing, you can always have japanese boiled rise with soy marinated egg, tender stem brocolli, eggplant, butternut and miso soup or house salad with a variety of mean. Choose from teriyaki chicken, tofu teriyaki, confit duck, yaki salmon, spicy katsu, chicken or pork.
In the sticks department, you can order pieces of chicken on sticks, three sticks per order, with yakitori flavour, spring onions or chili. Other small sides includes edamame, bang bang chicken, vegetable dumplings, pork dumplings and prawn tempura.
Location
We learnt that the Sticks and Broth at Baldwin Street is now also in Stokes Croft. They have opened their second restaurant. However, a check on Google says the restaurant at Baldwin is permanently closed and their website is unreachable (Sep 2017). Please call to check.
