Slim Chickens UK introducing Gravy Side

Some chicken will be introducing its gravy to the UK. This may not be the same gravy elsewhere especially in America. The reason for this is in its name. It will be introduced as a Gravy Side as oppose to just Gravy as part of their House Sauces offering. Read on for more details.

Comparing UK and US Dipping House Sauces

If you are a fan of Slim Chickens, you know that part of the ‘culinary’ experience is in choosing your favourite house sauce to go with your chicken tenders, wings, fries or sides. However the House Sauces in the UK are slightly different to those offered across the pond. What is missing here is the Gravy. While in the US, we have a couple more options to choose from namely the Hot and Southern BBQ. The UK does have a different gravy known as the Gravy Mayo which doesn’t sound particularly appetising.

So what is this Gravy sauce that the US is getting and not offered in the UK? The gravy is a southern staple, a thick and flavourful homemade gravy.

Gravy is Coming to the UK

So where do we stand with Gravy in the UK? It appears that Gravy will be landing in the UK on the 24 April 2024. However, instead of being offered as a free dipping sauce when you order your choice of chicken tenders, crispy wings or seasoned fries, it will be a Gravy Side. At this point, there is very little information about the new side except for the suggestive, “dip, dunk or pour” Let’s hope it is not a copy of KFC’s gravy.

UPDATE: It’s official, Gravy made it to the Signature Sides section of the menu. It sits alongside our favourites fried pickles, crispy fried onions and buffalo blue loaded fries. Priced at £2.95, it costs the same as a portion of coleslaw. Other signature sides include Mac and Cheese, crispy texas toast and extra sauce. Also listed under the sides section are extra portion of chicken; tenders or wings.
