Located at one end of Porthgwidden Beach’s iconic beach huts is a cozy cafe offering beachfront dining, an expansive view and if you are there in the summer, a big sun terrace seating area.
We visited one winter and were delighted to find the sun terrace converted into covered seating area complete with lighting and heating. This rather cosy space made you feel as if you were just by the beach despite the less than welcoming elements.
The main cafe is across a stairway path to the beach and landing to the beach huts. The Porthgwidden Beach Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees every day of the week. Evening opening hours are different so do check on their website. For evenings, it opens on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only, from 6pm for dinner. Catering mainly to holidaymakers, the cafe is even open over Christmas and New Year, except on Christmas Day.
The covered terrace is pet-friendly, so your furry friend can join you in the Cafe.
For our quick lunch, we ordered some drinks and as we were inspired by the sea, we decided to try the seafood risotto and dressed crab.
