Yes, we all love a good breakfast and honest eats in a cosy, contemporary, light and airy cafe. The new generation of hip youngsters and young families fancy fresh and new cafes that serve good wholesome food versus old and traditional pubs and out houses. The new Boston Tea Party at Alfred Street in Bath is one fine example of such an outlet.
BTP Alfred Street – A Cosy Cafe for All Ages
The food is reasonably priced. It’s one of those places where you have to decide what you want, note your table number and order at the till but be prepared to wait in line on a busy day. Food will be delivered to you when they are ready. Apart from the breakfast menu which is available all day, there is also the main menu for lunch and kids menu.
The place features a great choice of seating arrangements from booth to tables and chairs to couch and coffee tables to large canteen tables and outside seating. There is bound to be a place or corner that will suit you and your company of friends or family.
We love the Sourdough Eggy Bread with Smoked Bacon and Avocado and the Our little ones love the assemble your own Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel, the Porridge. For a fuller breakfast, we went for the West Country Breakfast.
We also recommend The Boss from the Brunch menu which is essentially a bigger English breakfast with hog’s pudding, roasted new potatoes and two rounds of toast thrown in for good measure. For egg lovers, BTP offers a choice of Egg Royale, Egg Benedict or Egg Florentine as well as Poached or Scrambled Egg on Toast with choice of salmon, bacon or portabello mushrooms.
If you are there for Lunch or Late Lunch, the Main menu offers exciting choices that includes Teriyaki Salmon, Sesame Chicken, Lamb Kofta Pitta, Halloumi Pitta, Burgers and Club Sandwich. For light lunch, go for the Goats Cheese and Beetroot Salad served with honeyed pecans, orange and leaves.
Those watching their weight or is health conscious can go for the Super Salad with avocado, mango, radish, sprouting seeds, sugar snap peas, leaves, carrot, nuts and seeds. Have it on its won or with a choice of chicken or halloumi. There is also a good choice of sandwiches with ham, cheese, chicken, beef, tuna or goats cheese.
