In the grounds of the Conishead Prior house is the Kadampa Buddhist Temple, a temple dedicated to world peace. We captured the magnificent temple on a clear sky day showered in natural light.

Our visit to Conishead Priory was more of a chance visit. While holidaying in the Lake District, near Cumbria, we knew of a Buddhist temple in the area and wanted to see this. Little did we know it was a lot more than just a temple.

When at the age of 47, Beatrix Potter married William Heelis, a solicitor, she married in to a family that had long been established in Hawkshead, although different to how it is portrayed in the film, Miss Potter, Beatrix did not actually know William Heelis from childhood.
